This is a comprehensive PhD thesis on the subject of Digital Musical Instruments, who's research is predominantly aimed towards improving the "feel" of a digital instrument. Notably the thesis was supervised by Marcelo Wanderley, who has contributed many important papers ont he subject.
This is a large work and so contains incredibly detailed and valuable information and is largely driven towards presenting good DMI design techniques which have been chosen based on tests of usability.
